Christmas Bake Off 2016: what you need to know

It’s time to dust off the rolling pins, dig out the reindeer cookie cutters and get experimenting with mincemeat… that’s right, the 2016 WI Christmas Bake Off is BACK!

We’re keeping the same categories as last year so there will be sweet and savoury delights to taste on the night, and we’ll be awarding an overall winner (who’ll win some Lakeland vouchers to help them do even more baking next year).

The categories:

1) Christmas Biscuits and Pastries

2) Festive Preserves

3) Festive Bakes 

We’ve asked some of our speakers from the past year to do the judging for us and we’re delighted that Emete from Friddles Cakes, Wayne from DIY Doers and Nathan from The Butchery will be joining us to pick the favourite.

Please bring your bakes with you on Monday 12th December (and know roughly which category they will fit into), and come hungry! There will be lots to sample. We will also be decorating baubles which we hope will get us all in the festive spirit!
